Trio Goes Deep In Rout Of Mission

David Langer, Tim O'Dalaigh and Jalen Bustos belted home runs at Gene Wellman Field as the Chabot baseball team overpowered Mission 14-3 on April 9 in a Coast Golden Gate showdown.
The convincing victory, which snapped a two-game losing skid, lifts Chabot to 16-15 overall and 8-4 in conference, while Mission falls to 18-12 and 7-4.
Winning pitcher Jack Delmore improved to 5-3, allowing just four hits and three earned runs over eight innings, striking out four and walking two.
Chabot had some very hot bats in the makeup game, pounding out 15 hits. The top three batters in the order, Troy Bachand, Cole Coffey and Langer, combined for six hits, five runs scored and six RBIs. O'Dalaigh also doubled and had three RBIs. Tyler Rourke was 3 for 5 with a double and three runs scored. Francisco Pedraza was 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs.
After Mission took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, Chabot went on a 14-0 run over the next five innings.
Chabot had a 1-2 record last week with a 17-3 blowout win over De Anza on April 2 and then losses to De Anza, 8-4, and Mission, 7-5.
In the blowout win, O'Dalaigh, who had six RBIs, and Pedraza both had home runs. Langer had two hits, two runs scored and four RBIs. Leadoff Bachand scored five times. Delmore (4-3) went five solid innings for the pitching win with five strikeouts and one walk. Logan Caton was sensational over two innings of relief with six strikeouts and allowing no hits.
In the 8-4 loss, Langer, O'Dalaigh and Pedraza all had doubles. Coffey homered in the 7-5 defeat.
