GLADS MAKE IT SEVEN IN A ROW!!

The Chabot baseball team earned its seventh consecutive win as Jalen Owens and William Aviles combined to shut out De Anza 5-0 on Saturday at Steve Friend Stadium in the Coast-North Conference.
The streaking Glads (20-8, 7-2), who have earned back-to-back series sweeps, are in second place, two games behind Skyline (20-8, 9-0).
Owens, the starter and winning pitcher, worked six stout innings, allowing no four hits, striking out eight and walking one. Aviles allowed three hits over 3.0 innings, striking out two and walking none.
Kolin Fukuki was 2 for 3 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI. Nick Walsh was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Christopher Miller was 1 for 3 with a double, run scored and an RBI.
The Glads won the first two games of the series 15-7, 16-8. Noah Morton and Emmitt Phinney put on a show in the 16-8 win. Morton slugged two home runs and had four RBI. Phinney was 3 for 4 with a home run, double and five RBI. Liam Forsyth also homered.
In the 15-7 rout, Daniel Vonnegut was 3 for 3 with a double, run scored and RBI. Jalen Owens was 2 for 2 with a triple and three RBI.
The Glads pounded out 17 hits. Leadoff Raoul Fabian Jr.  was 2 for 3 with a double, RBI and run scored. Forsyth doubled, scored twice and drove in two.
Chabot looks to keep it rolling with a three-game series this week against City College of San Francisco. The Glads host CCSF at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, travel to face CCSF Thursday at Mission College on Thursday, and then host the Rams at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Chabot has a three-game showdown series against Skyline the following week.
