GLADS SHUT OUT REDWOODS, WELCOME A LEGEND

The Chabot men's soccer team turned back Redwoods 2-0 and turned back the clock on Friday, Sept. 15.
The Glads got a chance to visit with Chabot legend John Shaw, the first soccer coach at the college, who came out to his first game in decades.
"All our players were able to meet him and we grabbed a photo at the end of our win over Redwoods," first-year head coach Geoff Aguiar shared. Now that's a special day on the pitch.
The Gladiators (2-2) continued to make strides as Mahmoud Shimila stayed hot with a goal in the 35th minute assisted by Marcelo Perez. Then Perez rounded out the scoring five minutes later off a Walter Avellaneda assist.
Shimila has six goals and and three assists and leads the team in points with 15. Perez has seven points on three goals and a helper.
