Chabot College sophomore Anthony Cress won a second straight California Community College Athletic Association State Wrestling championship, defeating Brian Horn of Sacramento City 6-3 in the 197-pound final Dec. 8 in Norwalk.
Chabot College sophomore Anthony Cress has a chance to accomplish a rare feat at the CCCAA State Championships at Cerritos College in Norwalk this week.
The Gladiators flexed their muscles against an East Bay rival with a 42-18 win over Skyline.
Impressively, Chabot was victorious in all but one of the contested matches.
Paced by Anthony (AJ) Cress who won a showdown against fellow state champion Adrian Godinez of Bakersfield, the impressive Chabot men's wrestling team took third place in the KLS Air Express Wrestling Tournament at Sacramento City on Sept. 15.
Led by reigning CCCAA state 174-pound champion Anthony "AJ" Cress, the Chabot wrestling team, guided by veteran coach Steve Siroy, is aiming for a very strong season.
