In a spectacular season for the Chabot tennis program, the Gladiators women's team, seeded second, swept No. 6 seed Modesto Junior College 6-0 in the quarterfinals of the Northern California Dual Team Playoffs on Tuesday, April 9.
Chabot will next host No. 3 Sierra at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 back on the Chabot courts.
The Gladiators (19-3) delivered a command performance against Modesto as Stephanie Huang sailed to a 5-0 (retired) win and Lisa Bargeman and Kathleen Berriatua swept their singles opponents 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles Huang and Sophie Moeckelmann put on a clinic in an 8-2 win. Lisa Bargeman and Berriatua also prevailed 8-2 in doubles. Claire Keeshan and Elizabeth Covarrubias teamed to win 8-1.
