The No. 2 seeded Chabot women's tennis team beat No. 3 seed Sierra 5-3 in the semifinals of the Northern California Dual Team playoffs.

The Gladiators (20-3) will travel to No. 1 Foothill on Saturday in the NorCal Finals for a berth in the State Championship in Ojai next week.

Stephanie Huang def. Watanabe, 6-1, 6-1; Lisa Bargeman def. Thrasher, 6-2, 6-3; Kathleen Berriatua def. Patterson, 6-3, 6-1; Stephanie Huang & Sophie Moeckelmann def. Watanabe & Thrasher, 8-3; and Claire Keeshen & Elizabeth Covarrubias def. Mason & Patterson, 8-3.

SUPER SOPHS: Sophomores Stephanie Huang & Sophie Moeckelmann have led the Gladiators to a second consecutive year of 20-plus wins. This has never happened in Chabot history, in men's or women's tennis. Last year Chabot finished 21-5.
