CHABOT BASEBALL KEEPS ROLLING

The surging Chabot baseball team (8-5) beat Mission 5-2 on Friday for its fourth win in a row -- all of them coming at the college's glistening Steve Friend Stadium.
"Great team win!" declared head coach Will Tavis.
Tavis said starter Gabe Tanner was impressive with five strikeouts over seven innings. Reliever Ryan Muir struck out three in one inning. Carrying the big sticks were Jon Gazdar (2-4, 2 RBI), Freddy Ramos (2-3, 2 runs) and Matt Sugden (3-4).
Tavis was also impressed with team efforts in wins over Diablo Valley, 8-5, and De Anza, 13-5.
Against DVC, pitcher Bryce Clark fanned three over five innings, Josh Caravalho struck out two over three innings and Zach Penrod struck out one over an inning. Gazdar (2-5) muscled up for a home run and three RBI, JT Noble (2-4) also slugged an homer and Sam Gilliam (2-4) had a double.
Against De Anza, Chabot broke it wide open with five in the bottom of the seventh.
Carson Glavich struck out six over 4.1 innings. Gilliam led the offense going 2 for 2 with four RBI. Sugden and Nick Mladinich were productive combining for three hits and six runs scored.
Justin Durflinger was 2 for 5 with two runs scored.
