During a rebirth season for the program under head coach Keenan McMiller, the Chabot men's basketball team has vaulted into this week's CCCMBCA State Top 30 Poll and finds itself in a three-way fight for third place in the Coast-North.

With two games left in conference play, the No. 30 ranked Gladiators (16-10, 7-5) are tied for third with the teams they will face this week. Chabot hosts Foothill (16-10, 7-5) on Wednesday and travels to CSM (13-13, 7-5) on Friday. With likely three teams from the conference advancing to the playoffs, the table is set for a drama-filled week.

In the teams' first matchup this season, Foothill topped Chabot 61-60 on Jan. 24, when the host Owls survived a 33-22 surge by the Gladiators in the second half. Izayah Talmadge paced Chabot with 16 points off the bench. A quick start could be key to Chabot's chances in the rematch at Gladiator Gymnasium

Chabot has shown resilience and excellent balance down the stretch. Chabot rebounded from an evenly waged road loss to Las Positas, 84-80, on Feb. 12 with a win over Ohlone, 71-68, on Feb. 14 at Gladiator Gymnasium.

Jabari Sweet paced Chabot against Ohlone with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Micah Webster (14 points) and Akili Daniels (12 points) provide sparks off the bench. Kyle Brown added 11 points, going 5 of 9 from the field.
