The Chabot men's basketball team received a 15th seed for the CCCAA NorCal Regionals and will host Diablo Valley College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The winner will travel to Fresno City for the next round.

The Gladiators enjoyed a turnaround season under second-year head coach Keenan McMiller, earning a 17-11 overall mark and tying for third place in the Coast-North, one year after winning just 11 games.

"It's good, a better position than last year, so we wanted to continue to move the program up,"  McMiller said.

McMiller said he "kind of knew" his team would get a playoff spot last week but didn't let the players know that, wanting them to keep their edge. He said the Gladiators are familiar with DVC, having faced the Vikings during the showcase period.

Chabot sophomore Jabari Sweet, a 6-foot-8 sophomore forward, earned first-team All-Coast Conference-North accolades after averaging 13.0 points and 7 rebounds a game.

Gladiators freshman Ramaj Gordon, a 6-5 forward, was named second-team all-conference after averaging 9.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
