CHABOT TRACK BOASTS PURE SPEED, DISTANCE DANDIES

The big marks keep coming for the powerful Chabot College men's track and field team.
"We have a strong team," notes head coach Kyle Robinson.
The numbers bear that out.
The Glads boast two sensational blazers in freshman Robert Stitts and sophomore Josh Shavies, two of the top sprinters in the state. In the 100, Stitts is ranked fourth in the state at 10.53 seconds, and Shavies is 10th (10.74). In the 200, Shavies is third (21.45) and Stitts is seventh (21.53).
In distance running, Daniel Trampe recently set the Chabot record in the 5k (14:23.42), which ranks second in the state behind Mt. SAC standout Ian Crocker (14:18). Chabot carries significant depth in the 5,000 meters, having three guys ranked in the top 5 in Northern California. Daniel Trampe is joined by freshmen Dylan Baptista and Kyle Galinis.
Chabot has a huge weekend coming up on March 29-30. Most Glads will be at Chabot for the Mike Fanelli Invitational, when they will face will have many Division 1 and Division 2 universities.
A few sprinters will go to Stanford that same weekend.
