Impressively balanced like the Chabot men's team, the Gladiators (6-2) boast four players averaging in double digits. Sophomore Zakiya Mahoney leads the way with 15.0 points and 10 rebounds a game.

Freshmen Niyah Willis (15.0 ppg) and Mikee Lopez (14.0 ppg) are also very solid. Sophomore Adorah Buggs is No. 4 on the squad in scoring with 12.4 ppg, including shooting a team-best 46.7% from the floor.

Chabot is ranked 18th in the Dec. 2 CCCWBCA state poll.

The Gladiators had some tough sledding in the Moorpark College tournament before the break, absorbing their first two losses of the season. The Gladiators fell to state No. 4 Palomar, 65-44, and No. 9 L.A. Trade-Tech, 91-73.

Things won't get any easier this week. Chabot opens the Tom Gilcrest Invitational at Sequoias against state No. 2 Ventura at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5.
