The new-look Chabot women's basketball team earned its first win of the season, 51-40 over San Jose City on Sunday in the Delta Tournament.
The Gladiators (1-2), who have one returner this season, were led by freshman Mt. Eden High graduate Aryana Khalik's four 3-pointers and 14 points.
Chabot coach Mark Anger's team is confronting a tough schedule, with seven of its first eight opponents ranked in the NorCal top 12.
"New team, we have to figure out how to to win," he said.
The Gladiators will host Feather River on Nov. 10 and Redwoods on Nov. 12, both beginning at 6 p.m.
