THREE'S THE DAY FOR CHABOT WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Chabot women's basketball drained 16 3-pointers in a rout of Pasadena City, 107-44, on Monday, Dec. 27 to open the San Jose City tournament. Mikee Lopez dropped in six 3s and scored 22 points and Cassidy Duncan had three 3s and a team-high 23 points.
"We shot the ball well," coach Mark Anger stated of the team's second win in a row.
The Gladiators (7-8) will complete the San Jose City tourney over the next two days before opening play in the Coast-North on the road against Skyline and College of San Mateo on Jan. 5 and Jan. 7.
Chabot coach Mark Anger has prepared his young team for the tough conference with a difficult nonconference schedule. But the Coast-North is no picnic, topped by City College of San Francisco (11-4), ranked No. 4 in the CCCWBCA North Regional Poll on Dec. 20 and No. 10 in the state. College of San Mateo is ranked 15th in the state and tied for ninth in NorCal.
Anessa Spradley had 16 points against Pasadena (7-5) and both Kendra Grant and Dede Franklin had 15 points.
