The Chabot men (21-7), runner-up in the powerful Coast-North Conference, earned a bye in the first round and a home game Saturday, March 2 as the sixth seed of the 3C2A NorCal Regional Playoffs.
The Chabot men’s basketball team got 25 points from freshman Marcellus Edwards and 23 from sophomore Zach Broadous to defeat upset-minded Las Positas 78-72 in overtime in the Coast-North Conference on Friday, Feb. 16.
In a matchup between two established men’s basketball programs, host Chabot College pulled away in the second half for a 91-76 victory over Las Positas on Wednesday night.
Chabot (14-4, 2-0), No. 14 in the Jan. 2 state poll, held on for a rousing upset win over State No. 5 City College of San Francisco, 79-77, on Friday, Jan. 12 in the Coast-North Conference.
The Glads lost two games against state powers on their trip down south, but the trip was still considered a success. The Glads dropped a cliffhanger to Fullerton, 75-69, falling to the reigning state champion.
