WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STRONG START FOR CHABOT

Chabot women 4-0; Chabot men throw scare into state No. 1
The Chabot College women's basketball team continued its fast start to the season with a 64-55 win over visiting Diablo Valley College Sunday. The Glads improved to 4-0, also with wins over Allan Hancock, Cuesta and Modesto Junior College, all by at least 10 points.
Sophomore Kelly Tumlin led the Glads against DVC with 24 points, including six 3-pointers. Freshman Nia Hunter added 14 points.
"Tough win, kids battled," Chabot head coach Mark Anger said.
Chabot will travel to Mission on Tuesday.
In an 83-70 win over Modesto, Tumlin had 23 points and Jadyn Anderson added 17. "Solid win," Anger said.
The Glads triumphed over Cuesta 62-52, riding an excellent team defense that caused 23 turnovers. Alexa Pleschette led the team with 24 points, Anderson added 12 points and Hunter had seven.
The sizzling Tumlin, averaging 20 points a game, poured in a game-high 26 points in a season-opening 83-61 win over Allan Hancock. Pleschette, a freshman, added 16 points.
