MEN’S BASKETBALL GLADS FACING THE BEST

The Glads lost two games against state powers on their trip down south, but the trip was still considered a success. The Glads dropped a cliffhanger to Fullerton, 75-69, falling to the reigning state champion. Fullerton is ranked No. 1 in the CCCMBCA Preseason State Top 30.
The No. 9 Glads (3-2) also fell to No. 4 San Diego City, 89-74.
Noah Thomas, a sophomore guard, leads the Glads at 25.0 points a game, tied for third in the state in scoring. He had a game-high 25 points against Fullerton (10-16 FG; 5-8 3s). Makaio Mims had 11 points, nine rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block. Marcellus Edwards also had 11 points. The Glads threw a major scare in the state champs, in fact leading 39-28 at the half.
Another Chabot sophomore guard, Zach Broadous, is averaging 18.2 points a game.
The Glads, facing a tough schedule, will open the Skip Robinson Classic against Pasadena City on Thursday, Nov. 16, and then will challenge Glendale on Friday.
Chabot opened the season with three straight wins in the inaugural John L. Wagoner Tournament, besting Modesto, Middlebrooks Academy and Fresno City.
