The powerful Chabot men's track and field team keeps adding to its successful season with chart-topping times.
Daniel Trampe is the state leader in the 5k with a time of 14:15.77 — which is a school record and the third-fastest time for a California junior college athlete in the past 10 years.
Robert Stitts and Josh Shavies are two of the top sprinters in the state.  Stitts has run 10.36 and 21.46. Shavies has run 10.57 and 21.45. Logan Phelps ranks fourth in the region in the 3k steeplechase (9:56) and ranks third in the 110 hurdles 15.26.
Chabot's next meet is the NorCal championships May 3-4 at American River. The top 24 in each event qualify, and the Glads will likely be taking a bus of 20-25 athletes.
