The Chabot College softball team upended Hartnell 7-2 in Salinas on Wednesday for its much-anticipated first win of the season.
Marissa Dorr got the pitching victory and Diana Morales the save.
Chabot coach, Megan Kravets described the squad as "very excited" after the win.
"(They) finally got the feeling of how they can really play," Kravets stated via text message. "They put forward so much effort and focus on fundamentals and executed."
Barbara Lindsey highlighted the seven-hit effort of a lively Chabot offense with a triple. Three Gladiators had doubles in Juliana Ottria, Kara McGovern and Maritza Ramirez.
Chabot was aggressive on offense with six stolen bases, including two by both Bri Arguello and Ramirez and one apiece by Dorr and Gianna Delgado.
Chabot (1-9, 1-6 Coast-North) will look to make it two in a row at home against Hartnell at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 30.
