HOW SWEET IT IS!

The Chabot softball team experienced a new thrill with its first walk-off win of the season.
Karalyn McGovern singled home Briana Arguello in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Gladiators a dramatic 13-12 win over visiting Cabrillo on Wednesday.
McGovern had a big game, belting a three-run home run and an RBI double. Winning pitcher Marissa Dorr also slugged a home run in the back-and forth battle.
"Wow! Very intense, but the team pulled through and finished with their first walk off," a thrilled Chabot coach Megan Kravets stated.
In the third inning, Damon Silva's RBI single scored Juliana Ottria and cut Chabot's deficit to 5-4
In the fourth, Dorr homered and Ottria and McGovern both had RBI doubles as Chabot took a 7-5 lead.
After Cabrillo rallied to tie it 7-7, the resilient Gladiators surged again. Gianna Delgado had an RBI single, scoring Alliya Lubin in the fifth. McGovern added a three-run blast to make it 11-7.
But Cabrillo ultimately retook the lead 12-11, before Chabot struck for an unearned run in the sixth, as Lubrin scored when Delgado reached on an error in center field.
That set the stage for the dramatic walk-off win.
