The Glads opened the season with a pair of losses to Redwoods, 8-4 and 9-6, in a doubleheader on Friday. Leadoff Aliya Lubrin had two hits and an RBI in the 8-4 loss, and Ka'Naya Newton, the center fielder, had two RBI.

In the 9-6 defeat, Chabot hammered out 10 hits, paced by Cherlyn Sandal's going 3 for 4 with a double, triple, two RBI and a run scored. Yuba Aguayo was solid with two hits and two runs scored.

The Glads host Diablo Valley in a doubleheader on Tuesday, beginning on Tuesday.
