HILL TOSSES SHUTOUT FOR FIRST-PLACE GLADS

Chabot sophomore right-hander Hawk Hill fired a sterling four-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and no walks in a 1-0 win over City College of San Francisco in the Coast-North on Thursday, April 6.
Hill, an Alhambra High graduate, improved his record to 6-0 with the victory. He also came in in relief in a 6-5 loss to CCSF on Saturday, April 9.
Hill (3.45 ERA) and freshman teammate Sam Heyman (5-1, 1.66), an Acalanes graduate, are having stellar seasons from the mound for the hard-hitting Glads, who lead the conference standings with a 9-3 mark, 22–9-1 overall.
Brian DuRoff (Monte Vista) continued to lead the state by a wide margin in RBI entering the week with 63, and also leads in home runs with 15.
In Saturday's close loss, Chabot's Casey Cummings (San Ramon Valley) and Alonzo Guijarro (Moreau Catholic) each had two hits and a home run.
