CHABOT FINISHES SEVENTH AT WEST HILLS TOURNEY

Led by three placers, the Chabot wrestling team took seventh place in the 18-team West Hills College tournament on Sept. 22 in Lemoore.
The strong tournament boasted top teams from Southern California and Northern California.
Chabot sophomore Anthony Cress won his second consecutive individual championship by defeating Matthew Martinez 10-2 in the 197-pound final. At 125 pounds, Brandon Julien took sixth place, beating Marcus Hutcherson of Bakersfield by injury default. At 165, Kevin Garcia finished fifth as he defeated Fresno City's Zach Poore by fall in 1:11.
Next, Chabot will compete in the Modesto Junior College Invitational on Oct. 6.
