CARRASCO SEVENTH AT STATE WRESTLING; WINS AWARD FOR FAST PINS

Chabot wrestler Lazaro Carrasco capped off an outstanding season with a seventh-place finish in the CCCAA State Wrestling Championships at Fresno City College this past weekend.

Carrasco received the Gorrarian Award which goes to the wrestler in the tournament with the most pins in the least amount of time. Carrasco beat Steve Karas of Sacramento City in the 197-pound Consolation finals by fall in 1 minute, 20 seconds.

Overall, Chabot sent three to the state meet. Henry Espinal had an 0-2 record and Gurbir Dhaliwal was an alternate. The Gladiators finished 17thin the team standings.
