The deep Chabot women's tennis team clinched the Coast Conference team co-championship with an 8-1 win over Monterey Peninsula on Tuesday.
Gladiators coach Rick Morris says he's been "fortunate" to have a big team of 11 players during a challenging season, mostly due to "dealing with Covid and weekly testing."
His main "problem" has been finding enough playing time for everyone, he says, "but this is a good problem to have."
Chabot put itself in a good position for the NorCal Dual Team playoffs by defeating other conference champions.
The Gladiators will open the playoffs at home against Fresno City on April 5.
"Looking forward to the next challenge ahead for our team," Morris says.
Chabot and Canada both had 11-1 records to share the conference title, but Chabot will get the higher seed in the playoffs based on having the most recent win in matches between the two teams, according to Morris.
