GLADS MAKE IT 12 STRAIGHT WINS
The Chabot baseball team slugged seven home runs to complete a commanding sweep of CCSF with a 12-1 win on Saturday in the Coast-North Conference.
The Glads are riding a 12-game winning streak, the second-longest current win streak in the state this season.
They improved to 18-7 and 6-0 in conference and are in a three-way tie for first place with Skyline and College of San Mateo.
TJ Costello was 2 for 2 with two home runs and two RBI in Saturday's romp at Steve Friend Stadium. Tyson Brown and Nico Defazio (2 for 3) both homered and had two RBI.
Tobin Cantrill struck out the side in one inning of relief.
Chabot outscored CCSF 51-4 over the three-game series.
In Game 2, Chabot prevailed 19-1. Blake Jacobs was 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBI. Daniel Behrmann was 2 for 4 with two walks, 3 RBI and a stolen base.
Cole Jones was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI.
Reliever Ronan French struck out two and allowed 0 runs in one inning.
Costello is No. 2 in the conference in hitting with a .418 batting average. Juan Pablo Manzo and Terrel Romain are tied for third in the conference in homers with six apiece — a spot ahead of Costello and Joseph Coupland, with four homers apiece.
