GLAD TO BE CRUSHING IT

The Chabot baseball team rebounded from a rare defeat to take back-to-back convincing wins over College of San Mateo last week.
Chabot clinched the series with a 14-1 rout of the Bulldogs on Saturday. The Glads (23-8, 11-1 Coast-North) lead the conference by a half game over Skyline (24-7, 11-2) heading into a big three-game series between the two teams this week. The Glads will travel to Skyline on Tuesday afternoon, and then will host Skyline on Thursday at Steve Friend Stadium. The teams will meet again on Saturday at Skyline.
In the series finale against CSM,
Chabot pitcher Danny Hernandez worked six strong innings, striking out six and allowing one run.
Nico Defazio led the offense going 2 for 4 with two RBI, two walks and a stolen base.
TJ Costello, ranked third in the conference with a .388 batting average, homered, walked twice and had two RBI.
Cole Jones was 2 for 3 with a walk and two RBI.
The Glads opened the series with a 6-2 loss to the Bulldogs that snapped a 15-game win streak. But Chabot rebounded forcefully with a 14-6 win on Thursday over CSM, setting up Saturday's Chabot romp.
Juan Pablo Manzo led the charges on Thursday with two three-run home runs, giving him nine Big Flies in just 22 games this season. Daniel Behrmann was 2 for 4 with two walks and an RBI. He also has 19 stolen bases this season. Jonathan Shepard was 2 for 3.
Eli Gennis was solid over five innings pitched, allowing three hits, two runs and striking out five.
