GLADS BOUNCE BACK WITH OT WIN

The Chabot men's basketball team took a thrilling win over De Anza, 91-86, in overtime on Friday to even its conference record at 1-1.
The bounce-back triumph upped Chabot's overall record to 12-4. Chabot dropped its Coast-North Conference opener to Ohlone, 72-70, on Wednesday, Jan. 10 in Hayward.
Chabot had a big finish, outscoring De Anza 12-7 in overtime.
Freshman Zion Yeargin paced Chabot against De Anza with 24 points and five rebounds. He drained three 3-pointers. Oz Savage added 15 points and six boards.
Other Chabot standouts were Marcellus Edwards, with 12 points, six rebounds and an assist; and Amani Johnson, who had a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards. He was 4 for 5 from the free throw line. Aaiden Burris had nine points with three 3s, along with four rebounds.
Johnson led the Glads against Ohlone with 22 points, going 10 for 13 on free throws. Edwards hauled down 11 rebounds. Christian Wilson had 12 boards and nine points.
