GLADS DEFENSE GETS IT DONE
The Chabot men's soccer team notched its seventh shutout of season, besting host Ohlone 2-0 on Friday, Oct. 18 in Coast-North Conference play. The Glads improved to 6-4-3 overall and 2-2-2 in conference.
"Our defensive effort was steady, and our goalkeeper (Colin Nestor) played off his line quite well," Chabot head coach Geoff Aguiar said. "… We were not as sharp on the attacking side of things, but we were able to create enough to get those goals in."
Alejandro Juarez scored on a penalty in the first half, after Ohlone took down Eloy Sierra in the box. In the second half, Aliou Fall upped the lead to 2-0 after making a great run across the Ohlone back line and taking a pass from JC Gonzalez.
"While it was not our greatest performance, we took it as a positive that we were able to walk away with a conference win without playing our best," Aguiar said.
