GLADS ARE IN THE HUNT
The Chabot men’s soccer team battled visiting Las Positas to a 1-1 draw in cross-Coast Conference action
The Chabot men's soccer team battled visiting Las Positas to a 1-1 draw in cross-Coast Conference action on Tuesday, Oct. 29, extending the Glads' unbeaten streak to four games.
The Chabot men's program continues to come of age under second-year head coach Geoff Aguiar. The Glads (7-4-4, 3-2-3) need a few more quality results against tough opponents to crack the playoffs, with five games to go.
Against the LPC Hawks, Chabot took an early lead on a goal by JC Gonzalez assisted by Matthew Furdean.
"It was a good start to the game for us. We could've had another goal or two on top of that," Aguiar said. "Las Positas had a good sequence off a turnover from us to tie the game halfway through the first half."
Aguiar credited his team's solid defensive effort as key to the effort. Goalkeeper Colin Nestor had three saves. The Las Positas goal ended a 340 minute shutout streak for Chabot.
The Glads travel to Foothill on Friday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
