Chabot's Lazaro Carrasco took second place in the 197-pound weight class in the strong Meathead Wrestling tournament at Cuesta College this past weekend.

As the Gladiators' lone placer in the 17-team event, Carrasco advanced to the championship final before falling by pin in 2:45 to Jack Kilner of Fresno City. Chabot finished 12^th as a team.

The previous week, Chabot beat San Joaquin Delta 30-12 in the Consolation finals of the Northern California Dual Meet Championships at Santa Rosa Junior College. The Gladiators placed ninth as a team.

Chabot also fell to Modesto Junior College 51-0 in a match last week, a deceivingly lopsided score as the Gladiators forfeited four weight classes because of injuries and other factors.

Next, Chabot will compete at Skyline on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
