2024 Wrestling Recap

A trio of Chabot competitors finished in the top eight at the 3C2A Wrestling Championships last month at Lemoore College.

Fazal Mohammad took sixth place at 174 pounds to highlight the team effort. Azim Azimy (141) and Almazbekov Abdymanap (197) both finished eighth. 

Chabot was seventh as a team at regionals, and 16th at the state meet.

Mohammad, the 3C2A NorCal runner-up, roared into the state semifinals with two impressive wins before dropping a 5-2 decision to Tyler Hanna of Cerritos. Mohammad lost another close decision in the consolation semifinals before dropping the fifth-place match by injury default.

Abdymanap and Mohammad were NorCal runner-ups, and Azim Azimy was third.
